Voltage stabilisation

We settle that for you.

Voltage fluctuations are unavoidable when operating electrical supply networks. While the rotating mass of power generators seems to remain unfazed by load changes, every change in current causes voltage fluctuations, of greater or lower severity. The effects of this occurrence are especially noticeable in inefficient supply networks and at the end of long branch lines.

The operation of certain, often complex, electrical equipment frequently requires the provision of an operating voltage with narrow tolerances and a high degree of long-term stability, to ensure uninterrupted, reliable operations.

The following automatic and magnetic voltage stabiliser series described represent robust, reliable equipment, the concept for which has proven reliable in continuous usage at numerous places of operation under even the most difficult operating conditions.

We would be happy to assist you in selecting and planning a voltage stabilisation system to suit your requirements.

Automatic voltage stabilizer

Automatic voltage stabilisers work with a closed loop circuit. The real value to be stabilised (output voltage) is constantly compared with the nominal value. Any variations are adjusted accordingly using a highly stable control loop or controller. This type of stabilisation ensures output voltage accuracy of +/- 1%.

Automatic voltage stabilisers from Schuntermann are manufactured from electrically and mechanically reliable components. Our motor-controlled variable transformers produced in-house, as well as our booster transformers and controllers, are robust components that have proven themselves over decades.

Problem-free use of the components over a long service life is therefore guaranteed.

  • Control range max. 50% (e.g. +/-25% // +10% – 30% etc.)
  • ø control rate 16 ms / V
  • Type of protection up to IP65
  • Frequency range 45 – 60Hz
  • Extensive supplementary equipment
  • Customised solutions

Magnetic voltage stabilizer

Magnetic voltage stabilisers create constant voltage within the permissible operating range, without measurement or a regulating unit, through the vectorial addition or subtraction of partial voltages.

Thanks to their design, the magnetic voltage stabilisers regenerate the sinusoidal form of distorted system voltages, prevent voltage spikes, suppress high-frequency interferences voltages in both directions and bridge over short-term voltage dips of up to 10 ms in duration.

The output voltages of magnetic stabilisers from Schuntermann achieve the very highest level of accuracy and optimum efficiency.

Single-phase stabilisers are available for powers from 60 - 10.000 VA

Variable Voltage Appliances

Voltage fluctuations over the course of the day are unavoidable in a supply network. The operation of certain, often complex, electrical equipment requires the provision of an operating voltage with narrow tolerances and a high degree of long-term stability, to ensure uninterrupted, constant operation.

Voltage adjustment is achieved by changing the voltage transformation. This may be carried out using variable transformers as autotransformer or with separate winding, or using matching transformers and booster transformers, also in combination with additional fine-tuning, with stabilisation by means of variable transformers.

Motor drives and controllers with analogue or digital signal processing facilitate the provision of versatile and reliable, almost infinitely variable actuators and stabilisation units.
